Securities and Facilities Committee October 18, 2024 SMILE Room, Taylor County Courthouse Call Meeting to Order: Metz called the meeting to order at 10:03 p.m. Members Present: Jim Metz, Scott Mildbrand, Chuck Zenner, Judge Ann Knox-Bauer, Kristi Tlusty, Courtney Graff, Lisa Kaufman, Bill Grunewald, Joe Svejda. Members Absent: Nicole Hager, Sheriff Woebbeking, Jill Scheithauer. Other Attendees: Andria Farrand Approve Agenda. A motion was made by Zenner, seconded by Mildbrand, to approve the agenda. A unanimous vote cast, the motion carried. Approve Minutes. A motion was made by Mildbrand, seconded by Metz, to approve the minutes of the August 23, 2024 Security and Facilities Committee meeting. A unanimous vote cast, the motion carried. Closed Session. A motion was made by Grunewald, seconded by Zenner, at 10:04 a.m. to go into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin State Statutes, Section 19.85 (1)( d), to discuss and update committee members on previously initiated security measures and consider and possibly act upon other security and training issues. A unanimous roll call vote cast, the motion carried. Graff arrived at 10:10 a.m. Kaufmann arrived at 10:11 a.m. Knox-Bauer arrived at 10:14 a.m. Open Session. Members Absent: Chuck Zenner, Sheriff Woebbeking, Joe Svejda, Jill Scheithauer. Members attending via phone: Kristi Tlusty, Courtney Graff Other Attendees: Andria Farrand Approve Agenda. A motion was made by Mildbrand, seconded by Knox-Bauer, to approve the agenda. A unanimous vote cast, the motion carried. Approve Minutes. A motion was made by Mildbrand, seconded by Metz, to approve the minutes of the July 26, 2024 Security and Facilities Committee meeting. A unanimous vote cast, the motion carried. Closed Session. A motion was made by Grunewald, seconded by Knox-Bauer, at 12:31 p.m. to go into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin State Statutes, Section 19.85 (1)( d), to discuss and update committee members on previously initiated security measures and consider and possibly act upon other security and training issues. Tlusty arrived at 1:14 p.m. Actions from closed session: A motion was made by Grunewald, seconded by Knox-Bauer, to recommend that the Executive Committee ask the County Board to proceed with hiring an additional Sheriff’s deputy for security at the main entrance of the Courthouse, and purchase a scanner and metal detector.
