5. WATER REPORT
5.1. Well & Distribution System Report Discussion
• We had a water main break on Clark & Alphyll on 7/1. This project is expected to be on the
CIP in the next 5 years.
• We repaired a service break on N German on 7/2.
• We repaired two main breaks on Mary and Dayton on 7/24.
• Letters were sent to Cardinal Construction today regarding liquidated damages of
$1000/day per contract. Final completion for wells 2,3 & 5 was supposed to be 11/28/26.
Well 3 was supposed to be back in service already before completing 2 and 5. The delay
goes back to the actuator manufacturer losing its manufacturing facility and falling behind
on shipments. This is for the iron filters.
• Well #5 will be fitted with steel siding
6. WASTEWATER REPORT
6.1. Sewer System Report Discussion
• We are working with DPW and gave them all the tools and logins to be able to map storm
sewer within the city alongside our water and sewer mapping.
• We lost blower function the week of 7/20, allowing us to only run one blower, putting a
strain on aeration. New blowers are in the process of being installed. The old blowers were
temporarily jumper wired to allow some function. A new one is in process.
• Additional asbestos was found in the old boiler as this was being removed. Testing was
contained to the contingency fund allotted within the contract.
• We received occupancy for the new administration building; this was pushed for inspection
since we lost HVAC last year and the temp A/C also failed in the lab. Per DNR lab
temperatures must be maintained at 17-20 C to preserve the integrity of lab samples.
