City of Fox Lake Committee of the Whole Minutes June 17 , 2026 The June 17, 202 6 committee of the whole meeting was called to order by Mayor Tom Bednarek, at 6: 37 p.m. In attendance were A lderpersons Dan Ault, Marcy Benz, Peter Hartzheim , Joe Horetzki , Dennis Linke and Angela Thomas . Also attending were City Administrator Kelly Crombie, DPW Superintendent Christopher Thurk , Police Chief Duane Olbinski and City Clerk Jenny Quir k . Clerk certifies open meeting laws have been complied with. Approve minutes: Motion by Ault , seconded by Linke to approve the minutes of the April 1, 202 6 co mmittee of the whole meeting as written. Motion carried with a voice vote. Public comments: The Mayor opens the meeting to public comments on agenda items or other matters. There were no comments made. Reports of Department Heads present : DPW Superintendent Thurk stated that the sidewalks at the library and by the pool have been repaired. DPW has hung up the 250 th Anniversary flags on the main street light poles. Also noting that one of the main mowers has repair s required. Chief Olbinski shared that he has received positive communication from the community with the new squad car. Also had a NNO meeting today and have additional agencies coming to participate. City Administrator Report : Administrator Crombie shared the administrator report . Also highlighting that Wednesdays in July have a food drive at the pool. Exchange a nonperishable food product for an ice cream. This will be a trial in the month of July. There were no questions from the Council. Discussion of possible mural project : Alder Thomas shared data she had collected regarding attraction to a community with a mural festival. This would include buildings willing to participate and additional ways to fund the project. Discussion of ordinance on driveways : Administrator Crombie shared the draft driveway ordinance for council review and discussion . Discussion of Post Office cluster boxes : Council discuss ed the request of the post office to install and maintain cluster boxes for the new construction on Cayuse Ct. Council felt this should not be a responsibility of the City. Also, Council felt individual mailboxes would be more appropriate in this new residential development. This will be relayed to the USPS. Closed Session: Motion by Hartzheim, seconded by H oretzki at 7:1 6 pm to adjourn to closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds or conducting other specified public business whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session, specifically to discuss negotiating a development agreement in TID 3 . Vote in favor: Benz, Hartzheim, Horetzki, Linke , Thomas and Ault . Motion passed. Motion by Ault seconded by Benz at 7:2 8 pm to reconvene to open session. Vote in favor: Hartzheim, Horetzki, Linke, Thomas , Ault and Benz. Motion passed. With no other business to come before the C ommittee o f T he W hole, motion by Benz , seconded by Hartzheim , the meeting was adjourned at 7: 28 p.m.
