2025, Village Board Meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
5. Business Items
Motion by Trustee Brandenburg, seconded by Trustee Krapfl, approving Ordinance 2026-01: Creating
Election Ward 4 in the Village of Theresa due to Congressional Districts (this is a revision to 2025-03).
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Brandenburg, seconded by Trustee Koenigs, to approve Resolution 2026-02: Intent to Join the
Statewide Public Safety Interoperable Communications System (WISCOM). Motion carried 7-0.
Currently, each agency has its own radio system → couldn’t talk directly → messages relayed by dispatch
→ delays and confusion. With WISCOM everyone can switch to the same talkgroup and communicate in
real time.
7. Reports
Administrative Report – No questions. Clerk-Treasurer Tellier mentioned less than half of the utility
customers are using the Theresa Community Connect portal and 129 accounts are using auto-pay.
Library Report – Meeting Tuesday, January 20 at 4 pm
President Report – Steger is waiting to hear back from Wisconsin DOT.
Public Safety Committee, Chair Haak – Sergeant Bhirdo mentioned that Officer Justmann participated
in Shop with a Cop. The department sold some old equipment and also changed phone providers for a
cost savings. The PD is also participating in a trial run with a camera system in- and out-side of the
building. Chris Giese provided information on the fire truck repairs that were part of a Village loan in
2025. Not all of the repairs were completed, so there may be a refund to both municipalities. The update
from Mayville EMS were included in the packet and they will be holding an Open House here on February
11 from 4 – 6:30 pm.
Public Works Committee, Chair Brandenburg – Daily operations are going well. Director Jacobitz is
getting used to the routine and testing schedule. MCO comes in Mondays and Thursdays. Lucas Franck
is now the operator in charge until Jacobitz gets his certifications. The Public Works Garage is getting
cleaned up and organized. The operator position has been posted again and we’re hoping to receive
experienced applicants. A swivel brush on front of the John Deere will be considered. Wisconsin DOT will
schedule a Public Hearing when they have plans ready for the Highway 175/Milwaukee Street Project.
Parks Committee, Chair Krapfl – Nothing to report.
