meeting to conduct public business. In accordance with state law, the meeting agenda was posted at Village
Hall, other municipal buildings, and on the Village of Howard website and was also distributed to the local

6. PUBLIC APPEARANCES
President McIntyre invited public comment.
Dale Weyenberg, 2208 Glendale Ave, spoke regarding the upcoming resurfacing project on Glendale Ave. from
Velp Ave. to the quarry. D. Weyenberg expressed opposition to the planned 10-foot-wide blacktop trail on the
north side of the roadway and stated that residents on that side of the street prefer a 5-foot concrete sidewalk
instead.
Director of Engineering J. Gerrits explained that the Village Board previously approved resurfacing that section
of Glendale Ave., including the installation of a 10-foot trail on the north side. He noted that a recent public
information meeting was held, during which residents expressed interest in a 5-foot sidewalk rather than a 10-
foot trail. Mr. Gerrits stated that an agenda item would be brought forward at the next meeting for further
discussion and Board consideration.
Board members asked clarifying questions regarding the width and material of the proposed trail, snow
removal responsibilities and resident preferences. D. Weyenberg indicated that his primary concern was the
blacktop material. He further indicated that residents would not object to clearing snow if required.
No other members of the public came forward. Public appearances were closed.
