Floret Court was severely deteriorated and needs to be replaced before final road repairs take
place. DeGroot Construction has provided a repair price of $5,750.
Cerny requested the Commissioners vote to approve the estimate and authorize DeGroot to
proceed.

dependent on weather and workload.
Behnke added it could be completed this fall, or possibly at the end of June depending on their
schedule.
Herrman asked about grant funding, which Behnke said the Town has secured a 50/50 grant.
Herrman said SMU will act on the bid at the October SMU meeting.

3. Preferred Vendor List: Cerny said the Operators have requested BT Excavating be added
to the SMU preferred vendor list. Previously only DeGroot Construction was on the
preferred vendor list. By adding a second contractor it will give the SMU/Operators the
ability to be more responsive to repair needs.
Fuge requested the Certificate of Liability Insurance be provided with the Town
of Scott named as additionally insured.
Herrman asked about BT Excavating. VandenLangenberg provided background information
on the company.

at the operators’ discretion.

Preferred vendor list, contingent upon the vendor providing a certificate of liability
insurance with the Town of Scott named as additional insured. Vote: Aye-4, No-0.
Motion Carried.
4. Newsletter Policy
Fuge said a t the September 8 th, 2026, Town Board Meeting the Board approved a Newsletter Policy that
would require the production of 3 annual newsletters; winter & fall newsletters would be produced and mailed
as they were done in the past, a spring post card with a ‘QR’ code would be mailed out to all residents to
encourage people to look up material on the Town’s website and subscribe to the site to get notifications.
The production and mailing of the conventional newsletter costs approximately $2,000 per event and the
stormwater budget has funded 50% of this cost. This has been funded with stormwater funds since the DNR
requires public outreach as part of the MS4 requirements, and every newsletter has an article about how to
improve water quality. This will be an item for further discussion at the meeting.
Herrman asked that SMU split the funds 33 percent amongst water, sewer and storm water versus just all
stormwater.
Moved by Malvitz, seconded by Blaney to direct staff to produce three annual
newsletters in 2027, with the spring newsletter distributed as a postcard, and to direct
SMU to allocate the associated funding equally (33.33% each) among water, sewer, and
stormwater. Vote: Aye-4, No-0. Motion Carried.
