The Wedging and Chip Sealing project was noticed in the Green Bay Press Gazette. The Town received bids from Fahrner and Scott Construction. He noted Fahrner provided a quote for two different size stones on certain projects. Cerny discussed the bid for Church Road (From Bay Settlement to STH 57). Cerny said for this project, ¼ inch stone would be best for this area, however, Fahrner also provided a quote for 3/8-inch stone. Cerny recapped the chip sealing project for Scott Tower Drive (From Fish & Wildlife Building on the north south to Champeau Rd). Cerny said the cul-de-sac was not included in the Scott Construction bid. He noted that Fahrner thought flex patching should be done by the gas station area. Cerny recapped project three to chip seal Maloney Road. Cerny recapped project four of Bowers Rd. Cerny discussed Farhner’s proposal of crack filling only for Bowers Rd. Cerny noted that due to upcoming construction there will be heavy machinery on the road, which may impact the road, as the Plan Commission recently approved the installation of a cell tower and the construction of a new business. Cerny recapped project 5 on Bodart (From Reiner on the north to Nicolet on the South). On Project 6 (Braemer Circle/Floret Circle), the Town received quotes from Farhner Construction for chip sealing and a bid for a pulverize and overlay price from Northeast Asphalt. Scott Construction did not bid on this project. Van Lanen noticed the amount of chipseal used for projects were far greater with Scott Construction than with Fahrner. Cerny noted Fahrner uses a hot asphalt mix whereas Scott Construction uses a cold asphalt mix, which may contribute to the difference. Van Lanen asked if Brosteau had a chance to review the bids and could offer insight. Brosteau reviewed the bids during the meeting and provided feedback. He noted that the board should consider the price per tonnage. Strebel asked if Braemer Circle project should be chip sealed or get a pulverize and overlay. Van Lanen recapped the previous 2025 chip seal project completed by Fahrner on the Bay Heights cul-de-sacs. (Osprey, Loon, and Egret). Baenen asked about deadlines. Cerny said that Fahrner Construction relies on Northeast Asphalt for a completion date. Brosteau said he would recommend an extra 1½ inch of hot mix, but would reach out to Fahrner for additional information on flex patching. Moved by VandenLangenberg, seconded by Strebel to award the bid for chip sealing on Scott Tower Drive to Fahrner Construction with 3/8” inch stone, for a cost of $24,404.00, with a potential change order to use either the flex patch or additional hot mix.
