TOWN OF AZTALAN TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 12, 2026 1. Call to Order / Pledge of Allegiance - Chair Chwala called the board meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present: Chair Jeremy Chwala, Supervisor Larry Christianson, Supervisor Megan Dunneisen Also present: Clerk Kathleen Pitzner. Absent: Treasurer Teresa Keeser This meeting was held at Aztalan Town Hall located at W6260 County Rd B, Jefferson County, WI. 2. Proof of Posting and Notice - Clerk Pitzner stated that the notice for this meeting was posted to the three posting boxes in Aztalan on August 8, 2026, and the town website. 3. Approval of Minutes - July 1, 2026 - Supervisor Dunneisen moved, Supervisor Christianson seconded the motion to approve the July 1, 2026 minutes as written. Motion carried. 4. Approval of Financial Report - July 2026 – Chair Chwala moved, Supervisor Christianson seconded the motion to approve the July 2026 Financial Report as submitted. Motion carried. 5. Plan Commission Report – no report 6. Fire Dept and EMS Updates – no reports 7. Jefferson County Supervisor or Sheriff’s Dept. Updates – no reports 8. State Representative Joan Fitzgerald; introduction and updates – reported on congressional updates prior to end of regular session and expressed her topics of concern: more road money & EMS funding 9. Announcements and Meeting Updates – no reports 10. Public Comment – Brenda & Chad Wesa voiced their opposition of the BECI 765-kV Transmission Line Project, and requested that information for residents added to the town website and for town board discussion at next meeting 11. Old Business - NONE 12. New Business a. Condition of salt shed roof; new shingles needed – Supervisor Christianson to bring quotes to next meeting b. How to make sand available to Aztalan residents during winter months – more discussion next meeting c. Review road work proposal submitted by Jefferson County Hwy Dept: Hope Lake Rd, Haumschild Ln, Ambrose Ln – Hope Lake Rd – discuss grant reimbursement process and review borrowing options & details at next meeting Haumschild Ln – Chair Chwala moved, Supervisor Christianson seconded the motion to approve the updated maintenance proposal submitted by Jefferson County Hwy Dept for the estimated cost of $22496.51 and {when invoiced} bring back to amend the budget accordingly. Motion carried. Ambrose Ln – continue discussion in 2027 d. Approve Resolution 2026-03Amend the 2026 Town of Aztalan General Budget - Chair Chwala moved, Supervisor Christianson the motion to approve Resolution 2026-03 to amend the 2026 General Budget. Motion carried. e. Approve the purchase of 3yr Protection Plan w/ Refund Guarantee for Treasurer laptop, $81.89 - Supervisor Dunneisen moved, Chair Chwala seconded the motion to approve the protection plan for the Treasurer’s laptop. Motion carried. 13. Possible Future Agenda Items - 14. Payment of Bills - Chair Chwala moved, Supervisor Christianson seconded the motion to pay bills. Motion carried. 15.
