TOWN OF AZTALANTOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTESJANUARY 11, 2023 1. Call Meeting to Order:Chairperson Chwala called theboard meeting to order at 7:02pm.Present: Chairperson Jeremy Chwala, Supervisor Larry Christianson, Supervisor John DrakeAlso present: Treasurer Karen Mundt, and Clerk Kathleen Pitzner.This meeting was held at Aztalan Town Hall located at W6260 County Rd B, Jefferson WI 53549. 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Proof of Posting and Notice:Clerk Pitzner stated that the agenda was posted to the Town website and the three posting boxeslocated at the Aztalan Town Hall; Ann Street, Lake Mills; and River Hill Dr, Johnson Creek on January 08,2023. 4. Approval of Minutes - December 14, 2022Supervisor Drake moved, Supervisor Christianson seconded the motion to approve the December 14,2022 minutes as written. Motion carried. 5. Treasurer’s Report - Approve December 2022 Financial Report -Supervisor Drake moved, SupervisorChristianson seconded the motion to approve the December 2022 Financial Report report as written.Motion carried. 6. Plan Commission Report -none 7. Jefferson County Report -none 8. LM EMS Report -none 9. Reports and Meeting Updates from Board Members 10.Public Comment on agenda items only (limited to 3 minutes per person) 11.Business -business items are matters of discussionand possible actiona. Request by Cody & Kathryn Stead to allow for farm-type animals in an R-2 zone at W6585County Road B on parcel #002-0714-1741-004 (2.4 acres) -Supervisor Christianson moved,Supervisor Drake seconded the motion to deny the request from Cody & Katherine Stead toallow for farm-type animals in an R-2 zone at W6585 County Road B on parcel#002-0714-1741-004. Motion carried.Reasons cited for denial:This request does not conform with the Town of Aztalan Comprehensive Plan that preserves theHamlet as a residential only zone; easement for Aztalan State Park from County Rd B to CrawfishRiver b. 2022 Budget Amendments -Supervisor Drake moved, SupervisorChristianson seconded themotion to approve Resolution 2023-01 as written and reviewed by the Town Clerk, Treasurer,and Board members. Motion carried c. Fire and EMS contracts -Supervisor Christianson moved,Supervisor Drake seconded the motionto send the Johnson Creek Fire Dept a letter stating termination of contract at end of 2023 andwriting a new contract with new territory starting 2024. Motion carried. {Town Atty will draftthe letter} d. Town of Aztalan Fees Schedule -Supervisor Drake moved, Supervisor Christianson seconded themotion move to February meeting. Motion carried. e. Town Shop and Hall maintenance - discussion only f. Aztalan town roads - discussion only g. ARPA Funds - Chair Chwala motioned, Supervisor Drake seconded the motion to table [move tonext meeting].
