26-053 Resolution approving a budget amendment for use of FAP funds for EMS equipment

City of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin Presented: August 4, 2026 Approved: August 4, 2026 Resolution No.: 26/053 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on Wednesday July 15, 2026, the Public Safety Committee met to discuss a request from the Fire/EMS Deputy Chief to utilize EMS Funding Assistance Program (FAP) funding; and WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services provides annual funding to qualified Emergency Medical Services as part of the EMS Funding Assistance Program; and WHEREAS, the Sun Prairie Emergency Medical Services Division is a qualified service which is provided funding; and WHEREAS, the EMS Division is requesting to purchase/update equipment within the scope of the FAP Program; and WHEREAS, EMS Funding Assistance Program can be used to supplement existing budgets to assist with the purchasing of emergency medical services supplies or equipment; and WHEREAS, a budget amendment in that amount of $140,652 is needed to complete the purchase of the upgraded EMS Equipment; and WHEREAS, the budget amendment is as follows: Increase EMS Special Revenue Operating Supplies - FAP Grant Program 200 – 20023000 – 532000 – 00071 $140,652 WHEREAS, after careful review and consideration, the Public Safety Committee moved to recommend that City Council approve the corresponding budget amendment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Sun Prairie, Dane County, Wisconsin, hereby approves the purchase requests and corresponding budget amendment in the amount of $140,652 as requested.
