Discussion and Possible Action regarding the 2027 Budget Updates and Presentations: Recreation Director Casy Dudley did a presentation to the Committee explaining the current uses of the Community Center and the amount of usage. He went over staffing, some of the current programs and potential programs and usage of the facility in the future. He then went over some of the 2027 capital request and some of the operating budget numbers. Parks Director Mark Wegner had a presentation regarding what the Parks Department all does and the staffing. He went though the amount of mowing and snow removal that is done by the department. He then went through the capital request and the needs. Wegner then went over the Forestry Budget. Lamers talked about the EMS budget and when it was submitted the levy increase for the City was $33,716, with the recalculation of the budget it will go up by $6,881 to $40,597. This will allow the City to adjust the levy limit by the $40,597. Lamers stated that the City received the Health Insurance which the City portion of the General Employees increase by 4.62% and the Police by 6.64%. Lamers stated he had increased the budget by 5% for all employees. The total amount of levy increase was very minimal from what was estimated to actual. Lamers stated that the employee portion went up a lot more, with part of that was the change in Insurance Companies that were identified as Tier 1. Last year both www.veronawi.gov GHC and Quartz where in Tier 1, which made the 88% of the average higher for the City’s portion. This year GHC is the only insurance in Tier 1. Lamers stated we received the Wisconsin retirement change and the City’s portion for the Protective went down and the General employees went up .05%, so very minimal change to the budget. Lamers asked about the COLA and stated as of now included in the budget there was 3.5% added. He did the calculation and if the COLA was reduced to 3% there would be a reduction in levy of approximately $35,481. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the City Investment Report-August 2026: Lamers stated nothing significant noted.
