CITY OF VERONA POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION Thursday, August 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Verona City Fire Department Training Room- 101 Lincoln Street MINUTES 1. Call to order by Mylinda Heil at 1800 hours. 2. Roll call: Mylinda Heil, Melissa Helgesen, Byron Brown, and Rohit Yallamraju 3. Public Comment: None 4. Approval of the minutes: Moved by Brown, seconded by Yallamraju to approve the April 29, 2026 minutes of the Verona Police and Fire Commission Meeting. Motion carried: 4-0 5. Adjourn to closed session pursuant to WI State Statute 19.85 (1) (c) and (e) for the following purposes: a. Selecting Battalion Chief of Training candidates for Commission Interviews for the Fire Department Motion was moved by Helgesen, seconded by Brown. Motion carried 4-0 Chief Hensley was invited to remain in closed session 6. Moved by Heil, seconded by Brown to return to open session for discussion and possible action regarding the closed session. Motion carried: 4-0 7. Motion for Chief Hensley to move forward with the top 6 candidates. Motion was moved by Helgeson, seconded by Brown. Motion carried 4-0. 8. Motion was made that if fewer than 3 candidates are brought to the PFC then Chief Hensley is authorized to repost the position of Battalion Chief of Training.
