Library Board Meeting Notes Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. Library Conference Room Attendees: Present: Stacey Burkart, Chris Hopp, Kyle Jones, Skyler Franke, Karen Spencer, Rikki Conwell, Spencer Harrison Absent: Lisa Miller Call to Order: Hopp called the meeting to order at 6:30 Approval of the Regular Meeting Minutes of 5/6/26 Minutes Approval: Harrison Moved / Conwell Seconded / Motion carries Review and approval of the May 2026 invoices Invoice Approval: Jones Moved / Spencer Seconded / Motion carries Public Comments No visitors from the public City Council Liaison’s report Harrison shared updates on city planning activities and discussion around city draft policy on AI usage by City of Verona staff. Board discussed AI usage implications for library operations and potential for code of ethics policy around AI. Library Director's report Burkart reviewed the contents of directors report. Discussion on space allocation of rooms for staffing. Outlined potential POD room availability. Discussion raised on need of these units and if this would be a cost worth justifying. Final cost data will be brought to a future board meeting for analysis. Discussion on OPN proposal for additional future architectural analysis. Old Business 1.Discussion regarding donor recognition policy Board continued discussion on future options around donor recognition and comparable policies elsewhere. No action at this time. 2.Preliminary discussion of 2027 library budget. Board discussed request for additional hours of operations. Reviewed patron usage of reservable rooms and the potential addition of POD spaces. Additional budget priorities being collected. No Action at this time.
