Approved Minutes Monona Public Library Board Library Board Room August 18, 2026, 7:00 p.m. I. Roll Call Library Board Trustees Present: Joseph Swinea, Secretary; Christina Jones, Vice P resident; Margaret Clark, Community Representative; Wilhelmina Fessenbecker, Community Representative; Dan Hilgartner, School Board Representative; Library Staff Present: Director Ryan Claringbole Library Board Trustees Absent: Doug Wood, City Alder; Roselyn Ebel, President; II. Call to Order A. Vice President Jones called the meeting to order at 7:00 III. Approval of Minutes A. Representative Clark moved to approve minutes B. Representative Fessenbecker seconded the motion C. Motion passed unanimously IV. Appearances A. None V. Consent Agenda A. Review of and Approval of Bill Payments, Financial Report, and Activity Report B. Representative Fessenbecker moved to approve C. Representative Hilgartner seconded the motion D. Motion passed unanimously VI. Library Director’s Report A. The library’s new electronic lock system is installed and working B. The lower-level HVAC project has begun 1. Patrons can still enter the library through the lower floor 2. The meeting rooms will not be available for the duration of the c onstruction C. Director Claringbole is holding interviews for the circulation supervisor D. Director Claringbole is moving forward with the two project proposals for the C apital Budget E. There will be a two-week window (August 16-30) where the public can purchase l ibrary shirts and hoodies 1/2 F. Director Claringbole is looking at improving parking on Schluter Road in 2028- 2029 1. This will involve bumping the curb towards the building and marking spots in the road 2. It would also involve establishing a new delivery spot and a handicapped parking space by the Schluter Road entrance VII. Board Discussion Topic A. Facilities B. Capital Budget C.
