Project Name: Radio Station Control Board 2. Year Proposed: 2027 Rank: 1 3. Requested By: Will Nimmow 4. Prepared By: Will Nimmow 5. Project Description/Justification (briefly indicate the size, location, type of projects or purchases, and time schedule involved in implementation.) WVMO's primary audio control board is now 12 years old and has required the replacement of multiple modules over its service life. While the console continues to function, its age and ongoing maintenance needs increase the risk of future reliability issues. This capital request would fund the replacement of the audio control board with a modern console that offers improved reliability, enhanced functionality, and a more intuitive user interface. The upgraded system would simplify day-to-day operation for staff and volunteers, reduce maintenance requirements, and help ensure dependable broadcast operations. 6. Future Cost (maint, staff cost, etc) $0 7. Total Project Cost: $6500 City of Monona CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS REQUEST FORM Community Media 1. Project Name: Remote Video Broadcast Updates 2. Project Description/Justification (briefly indicate the size, location, type of projects or purchases, and time schedule involved in implementation.) The City’s remote video production equipment is now more than five years old and is approaching the end of its useful service life. This equipment is used to record and stream a variety of city events and off-site meetings, including meetings such as the 2026 Board of Review. This capital request would fund the replacement of one remote production camera, helping to maintain reliable coverage of city meetings and events while ensuring continued compatibility with the City’s video production and streaming systems. 6. Year Proposed: 2027 Rank: 3 3. Requested By: Will Nimmow 4. Prepared By: Will Nimmow 5. Project Description/Justification (briefly indicate the size, location, type of projects or purchases, and time schedule involved in implementation.) WVMO is seeking to improve its ability to broadcast live from community events, concerts, festivals, and other remote locations. While the station's current remote broadcast system produces high-quality audio, it is complex to operate and can be challenging for volunteers with varying levels of technical experience. This capital request would fund a simplified remote broadcast system that leverages cellular technology while maintaining professional broadcast-quality audio. The upgraded system would improve reliability, reduce setup time, and make live remote broadcasts more accessible to volunteers, in hopes of providing more live local programming to listeners. 6. Future Cost (maint, staff cost, etc) $0 7. Total Project Cost: $1800 City of Monona CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS REQUEST FORM Community Media 1. Project Name: Municipal Room Audio Update 2. Year Proposed: 2027 Rank: 4 3. Requested By: Will Nimmow 4. Prepared By: Will Nimmow 5. Project Description/Justification (briefly indicate the size, location, type of projects or purchases, and time schedule involved in implementation.) The Municipal Room's audio system has evolved over time through a series of incremental upgrades and equipment additions, resulting in a collection of components of varying ages and capabilities. Much of the current audio and video production equipment is between five and ten years old. This capital request would fund a comprehensive audio system upgrade, including professional wireless microphones, modern audio control equipment designed to support hybrid meetings, system programming, and integration. The project would improve overall audio quality, reliability, and ease of operation while better supporting in-person, virtual, and recorded public meetings. 6. Future Cost (maint, staff cost, etc) $0 7. Total Project Cost: $57,700
