Design Review Board Meeting Minutes Thursday, July 9, 2026 1. Call to order. The meeting was called to order at 5:02 pm. Members present: Lybra Loest, acting Chair; Daryl Melzer, Bob Miller, and Larry Pachefsky. Others present: Brendon Smith, and Planning and Development Director Bart Griepentrog. 2. Approval of the June 25, 2026 meeting minutes. Mr. Pachefsky motioned to approve the minutes, as drafted; seconded by Mr. Miller. Vote 4-0. 3. Consideration of the application and plan on file for the installation of a wall sign at commercial property 3551 N. Oakland Avenue. Brendon Smith was present to discuss this item. Director Griepentrog noted that the backlit channel letter wall sign, which would be located within the sign band, was compliant in size and type. He reminded the Board that the aesthetics of the sign was at their discretion. Mr. Melzer stated that the sign looked good, and Mr. Miller agreed. Mr. Smith pointed out that the oak leaf on the sign was a nod to Oakland Avenue and the nearby Oak Leaf Trail. Mr. Pachefsky appreciated the explanation. Mr. Pachefsky motioned to approve the plans, as submitted; seconded by Mr. Melzer. Vote 4-0. 4. Future Agenda Items No future agenda items were discussed. 5. Adjournment.
