BROWN DEER LIBRARY BOARD May 11, 2026 MEETING MINUTES (Unapproved) The meeting was called to order by President C. McGuigan at 11:02 A.M. I. Roll Call Present: Board members: President C. McGuigan, C. Hoehn, K. Turner, and D. Zimmer Also Present: Dana Andersen-Kopczyk, Library Director Excused: D. Woods II. Call for Additional Agenda Items None III. Persons Desiring to be Heard None IV. Consideration of Minutes: a. March 9, 2026 – Regular Meeting It was moved by D. Zimmer and seconded by C. Hoehn to approve the minutes of the March 9, 2026 regular meeting. The motion carried unanimously. V. Unfinished Business None VI. Report of Library Director a. Director’s Report There were no verbal highlights or discussion. b. Usage Report Request was made for different colors to be used for charts. c. Revenue/Expense Report There were no verbal highlights or discussion of the report. VII. New Business a. Consideration: Approval of March 2026 and April 2026 vouchers It was moved by C. Hoehn and seconded by K. Turner to approve the March 2026 vouchers. The motion carried unanimously. It was moved by D. Zimmer and seconded by K. Turner to approve the April 2026 vouchers. The motion carried unanimously. b. Consideration: Hiring a Reference Intern for Summer Coverage It was moved by K. Turner and seconded by C. Hoehn to approve the hiring of a Summer Reference Intern, with the position to end on September 5, 2026 and the total salary cost not to exceed the discussed amount. The motion carried unanimously. c. Discussion: Library Strategic Plan There were no verbal highlights or discussion. d. Consideration: Annual Election of Board President It was moved by C. McGuigan and seconded by C. Hoehn to nominate D. Zimmer as Library Board President for the following year. The motion carried unanimously. VIII. Report of Friends of the Brown Deer Library The next meeting of the Friends will be on Tuesday May 12th at 11:00am. IX. Adjournment Next meeting: June 8, 2026 It was moved by K.
