Town of Spooner WASHBURN COUNTY – WISCONSIN October 11, 2022 6pm Spooner Town Hall N6124 Blooming Vale Road, Spooner MINUTES REGULAR BOARD MEETING Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Gary Frankiewicz. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Members present: Chairman Gary Frankiewicz, Supervisor Miles Macone, Supervisor Jon Johnson, Treasurer Joan Avery, Clerk Leslie Arf. Others present: Mabi Plisky, Ed Fischer, Akemi Fischer, Rich Meggitt, Nancy Hansen, Pat Inman, Roger Charron, Minutes of June Regular Meeting: Motion by Supervisor Johnson to approve September 2022 minutes, seconded by Supervisor Macone. Motion was carried unanimously. Treasurer’s Report. Treasurer Joan Avery reported that the deposit from the roads and shared revenue will be coming in soon. Next month the money from our savings account will get transferred to checking for next years budget. Motion to accept treasurers report by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Macone. Correspondence: Letter from Spooner Fire Dept re: budget for next year. Slight increase Public Comment: NONE Old Business NONE New Business: Spooner Lake Boat Landing project, Eddie Chaney came up with plan, received estimate from Kauffman for work. Need to purchase rock from County. Plan is to start early Spring. Will have invoices to approve at Nov meeting Lake District reported that $2889 was taken in for boat landing fees. Expenses were $111. Sold 27 Seasonal Passes. Lake district would like to waive fees for lake residents. Town ordinance states that everyone must pay. Discussion regarding changing ordinance will be added to next months agenda Salt and Sanding, Supervisor Macone reached out to Statewide to confirm services for this winter. WI legislators changed posting regulations. Only need to post notices on the website and one physical location. Location will be Town Hall Preliminary 2023 Budget discussion, Road budget will be ready in November. Increase Town Park Budget to $4000. Postage increasing. Recommend allocating remaining $40,000 from ARPA funds to road budget Electors Meeting agenda November 15 @ 6pm Public meeting followed by Electors meeting. Town Caucus must be held in January. Date will be set in December Highway Update and Expenditures: Supervisor Macone reported that Jesse Kaufman will be plowing again this winter. Bayside Road needs work, Miles will look into this Payment of Bills: Motion by Macone to approve the payment of bills totaling $2480.42 Second by Johnson motion carried unanimously. Future agenda Items: Discuss changes to ordinance re: boat landing fees Discuss non named road on South end of Spooner Next Regular Board Meeting Date: Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. Adjourn: Motion by Supervisor Johnson to adjourn the meeting, motion seconded by Supervisor Macone; motion carried unanimously.
