Village of Somers Special Board Meeting July 14, 2026 President Stoner called the meeting to order at 4:00pm President Stoner led the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: President Stoner, Trustees Ben Harbach, Karl Ostby, Jackie Nelson , and Jack Aupperle. Trustee Fredrick and Trustee Smith were excused. Also present: Administrator Jim Hurley and Assistant to the Administrator Kevin Poirier, Review and discuss the financial management plan. No action will be taken. Administrator Hurley presented the financial management plan and reviewed the available options. The Board discussed the various approaches and considerations associated with each option. Possible action on the submission of the Public Services Commission (PSC) Rate Case application: a) Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) fee b) Conversion to a direct public fire protection fee Trustee Harbach made a motion to table the submission of the Public Services Commission (PSC) Rate Case application: a) Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) fee b) Conversion to a direct public fire protection fee Action item was tabled until July 21, 2026 Seconded by Trustee Nelson Motion carried. 5-0 vote Review and consider possible action on funding options for the Pike Creek Lift Station upgrades and vault pit on Highway E and 39th Avenue through TID funds Trustee Ostby made a motion to direct staff to prepare a proposal for funding the Pike Creek Lift Station upgrades and vault pit on Highway E and 39 th Avenue using TID funds as outlined in the final 958,000 to be determined by either sewer funds or general debt obligations. Trustee Nelson moved to approve Trustee Harbach asked if the estimate was close to actual cost. It was indicated that it was. Seconded by Trustee Harbach Motion carried. 5-0 vote Adjourn Trustee Harbach moved to Adjourn at 5:08 pm. Seconded by Trustee Nelson.
