Town Chairman report & comments –
Brett Butler states nothing at this time to report. Thank you for the honor of being able to serve for the past 2 years.
Old business –
Deb Lois states that as citizens we want to thank you for your service and all you did.
Brett Butler exchanged seats with Chairmen Jeff Butler.
New business –
- Vince Mosca asked if there are term limits?
Every two years there is an election stated by Jeff Butler.
- Mary Petersen asked about having a 5-person board.
Brett Butler informed that there is an increased cost and a misconception regarding having a quorum. Mary Petersen
states that she is noticing that some of the board members might be overburdened. As long as its posted that the more
than 2 board members are getting together then it’s ok. Bill Glembocki states that you can meet with other board
members as long as you don’t talk about board issues. Brett Butler spoke as long as we have ample amount of time to
post and notify it’s not a big deal. Chief Lou stated Brett Butler attended multiple meetings without having to post. Mary
Petersen asked if the meetings don’t calm down how are we going to meet the demand of our board going to them?
Sheila said that sometimes they are just busier. Randall size is approximately the same as Wheatland. Their board is a
5-member board. Tracey Denko states that if the election to fill a 5-member board is advertised there probably won’t be a
problem filling the spots. Brett Butler stated it’s all through statutes and he doesn’t know if that is ev en allowed. All the
board members can’t come up for reelection on the same year, it’s has to be split. Sheila stated that at the next election
in February only 2 board members came to split the election time frames.
Motion to change the board from a 3 person to a 5 person board by Mary Petersen, 2nd by Tracey Denko.

Chairmen Jeff Butler mentions that Officer Santelli’s might be on his last reappointment. He would like to see the
constable position be an appointed position rather than elected. Sheila asked if it was brought through the attorney? Jeff
Butler stated he was hoping for that conversation to happen tonight at this meeting but the attorney wasn’t able to make it.
Bill Glembocki states that we can vote on this next annual meeting. There are pros and cons to having appointed versus
elected. There is also another option to contract with the county. $294k is what Bristol contracts out. Officer Santelli’s
salary is approximately $65 per year. It’s nice to have a constable position because of calls that we are able to have him
go to for the town instead of waiting on the county. Chief Denko states we have to see that we are the most west in the
county, no one else goes west this makes it hard to get someone out this way from other jurisdictions. It’s a benefit for
traffic control and having a steady person here that knows what is going on in our town is a benefit to us. This has to be
tabled until we talk to the attorney.
Chairmen Jeff Butler wants to recognize Deb Vos for her years of service with a plaque. We thank you. Sheila should
also be thanked for the continued work she is doing. We appreciate you!
