trees in the spring. Some discussion took place regarding a sidewalk that is currently partially blocking a
sidewalk in the Village.
B. Recreation Report
Director Dobson read the following recreation report prepared by Supervisor Van Maanen. “We wrapped
up our flag football season this past Saturday, and it went really well! This Saturday, we’re exciting for our
Slinger Trails and Cheers event at Community Park from 4:00 to 7:00. This week also kicks off our first fall
pom and dance session, which has already reached capacity with 84 girls. Toddler playtime takes place
this Thursday, and next week we’ll begin our fall tumbling program, along with two cooking classes that
have doubled in size since their first sessions over the summer. Looking ahead, we’re excited for our big
Trails of Treats event at Breuer Park on October 25th from 10:00 to 1:00.
5. New Business
A. Park & Open Space Update Discussion
Dobson presented the Board with two proposals for our open space plan update. Dobson said the first
proposal was from Vandewalle & Associates in the amount of $20,500 and the other was from RA Smith
with a proposed cost of $23,000 to $25,000. Dobson said both proposals bid on ten goals for the updated
plan. Dobson informed the board that he also contacted SWRPC in an attempt to obtain a bid. Dobson said
that SWRPC told him that they do not do any bidding on plans that are asking for RFP’s or getting proposals
from other companies. Dobson said that he did not feel comfortable just handing the plan update to SWRPC
