STATE OF WISCONSIN SAUK COUNTY TOWN OF BARABOO Minutes of Regular Town Board Meeting March 9,2026 1. Chair, Bill Klemm called the meeting to order at 7PM and Deputy Clerk, Barbara Terry verified compliance with Wisconsin’s open meetings laws. 2. Roll call was taken of the town’s elected officials: Present were Chair, Klemm; Supervisors: Hess, Terry, Steinhorst & Treasurer, Ferrell-Stieve. Puttkamer excused. Also present: Barbara Terry, Deputy Clerk. 3. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 4. Motion was made by Hess to adopt meeting agenda. Motion was seconded by Steinhorst. All in favor. Motion carried. 5. Motion was made by Steinhorst to approve the minutes of the regular town board meeting held on February 9, 2026. Motion was seconded by Hess. All in favor. Motion carried. 6. Citizens’ appearance: Bernadette Greenwood introduced herself as running for County Board Supervisor for District 21 Sauk County. 7. Motion made by Hess to approve Special Exception permit pursuant to authorize a Tourist Rooming House/short term rental by Steve Sinnott & Heather Sveom at S5815 South Shore Road Baraboo Wisconsin tax parcel 002-11301-00000. The property will be operated as “Devil’s Lake Getaway” and is a single-family home located in the Sanitary Sewer District. Motion was seconded by Steinhorst. All in favor. Motion carried. 8. Brad Boettcher shared information from General Engineering re: Pikes Peak Rd. No action taken. To be on next month’s agenda. 9. Formal input regarding the proposed amendments to Chapter 7 of Sauk County’s Code of Ordinances. Tabled. 10. Motion was made by Hess to approve Resolution # 2026-04 Adopting Public Participation Plan & Procedures for Amending the Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Baraboo (Approved at the Plan Comm. 3-02-26). Motion was seconded by Terry. All in favor. Motion carried. 11. Motion was made by Steinhorst to approve Town Road Postings starting March 10, 2026. Motion was seconded by Hess. All in favor. Motion carried. 12. Motion was made by Hess to set Town of Baraboo 2026 Road Tour for (Tues. March 31 st @ 700AM). Motion was seconded by Terry. All in favor. Motion carried. 13. Motion was made by Hess to set dates for Open Book : Tuesday April 14, 2026, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Town Hall & Board of Review : Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Town of Baraboo Town Hall.) Motion was seconded by Terry. All in favor. Motion carried. 14. Motion was made by Hess to approve Treasurer’s Reconciliation reports. Motion was seconded by Bill Steinhorst. All in favor. Motion carried. 16. Motion was made by Hess to approve submittal of vouchers and checks. Motion was seconded by Terry. All in favor. Motion carried. 17. Motion to adjourn at 8:53PM by Hess.
