MINUTES OF THE TOWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING The Town of Baraboo Plan Commission held a meeting on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 6:15 PM at the Baraboo Town Hall, located at 101 Cedar Street, Baraboo, WI 53913. 1. Called the meeting to order at 6:17 PM and verified compliance with Wisconsin’s open meeting laws. Meeting was posted at three posting boxes. 2. Plan commission members Steve Hess, Randy Puttkamer, Al Stanek, and Lea Ann Gieck were present. Absent were Pat Sprecher and town clerk Morgan Olson. 3. Motion to adopt meeting agenda made by Lea Ann Gieck, seconded by Al Stanek. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Motion to adopt the minutes of the January 6, 2025 plan commision meeting made by Randy Puttkamer, seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Motion carried unanimously. 5. Dave Brennan appeared to speak on a non-agenda topic. Mr. Brennan was inquiring about modifying a previous PRD. He wants to move the buildable lot to the existing farmstead. Mr. Brennan was directed to Sauk County Zoning to begin the process. 6. No action taken on in regards to approval of a Special Exception Permit application for a nonmetallic mining site from Tyler Leatherberry on tax parcels 002-0779-00000, 002-0784-02000 and 002-0784-10000, located at S4168 Crawford Street, Baraboo, WI. Applicant is asking for an extension of the Sauk County Board Of Adjustment’s deadline from February 2025 to June 2025 to continue operations while completing a reclamation plan update. The “current” Special Exception Permit was issued to the previous owner, and therefore would have legally expired upon property transfer in July 2023. Applicant did not appear. 7. Motion made by Randy Puttkamer, seconded by Lea Ann Gieck to recommend that town board that Sauk county BOR approval of a non-conforming variance request from Gary Kowalke of Glacier View, Inc. on tax parcel 002-1170-31110, located at E11617 Pen-Marc Court. A variance would allow the structure to remain as-built without changing the town’s right-of-way. The Baraboo Town Board previously denied any changes to the town's right-of-way until after the Sauk County Board of Adjustment addresses the variance request. Motion carried unanimously. 8. Radny Puttkamer spoke of a settlement offer from the RV park in the town. He also spoke of parking/route issues around Beyond Blessed Food Pantry. 9. Meeting Dates set for March 3, 2025 and April 7, 2025 10. Meeting adjourned at 7:20 PM A quorum of the Baraboo Town Board was not present at this meeting.
