TOWN OF CALEDONIA – WAUPACA COUNTY Park Committee Meeting October 14, 2026, 4:30-6:30 pm On Site at Gruetzmacher Park, N2261 Bean City Rd, New London WI NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Caledonia Park Committee will conduct a meeting. These meetings of the Town Board are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted with the time, place, and agenda of the meeting. Call this meeting to order. No Public Forum will be offered at the beginning of this meeting For those interested, Scott Jaeger from Scott’s Trees, will be at the park from 3:30-4:30 on the 14th before this meeting to set the location of the ten trees around the Community Center and playground, please join us if you want to participate. Also, Committee members are encouraged to tour the facilities before the meeting so each of us has had the opportunity to see the incredible final result Agenda Old Business ● DNR Grant Coordinator Jess Terrien input from the 9/9/2026 visit ● Impressions from the Gruetzmacher Family following their on site get together ● Park visitation since opening/feedback ● Rental fees for Gruetzmacher Family Action Items: ● Approve minutes of August 2026 meeting, September meeting was canceled ● Align on principles for rental policies ● Endorse the 2027 park/recreation budget to send to the Town Board Reports: ● Gruetzmacher Park Status: Trails - completed Pickleball courts - completed Playground - completed Site - planting of prairie and pollinator garden in November, prep before Grass areas- overplanted this fall Community Center - punchlist items underway - 95% complete Bike courses - completed Driveway/striping - completed Signage - completed Last ten trees - completed in late October Pond plantings/construction - completed Trash pick-up - completed Fire Inspection - completed Building inspection - completed, Occupancy approved Insurance prep - completed Sledding hill - completed 2026 invasive species removal - completed Future invasive plant removal planned with the USDA Park furnishings/equipment - completed Final Grant payment submission - Nov target Community Center above door sign - Completed by the end of October? Security cameras - 95% completed, need monitor at town hall installed Door lockers - not completed, working through some issues with controller Final payments for phase 1 projects - underway 2027 Maintenance Budget Review and Reimbursement Proposed budget Proposed reimbursement plan Police Extra Patrols Nearly a dozen drive throughs so far One act of vandalism - signs torn off wall Issues being addressed Bikes on courts Bikes on sledding hill 2027 Donation Options Community Center bed planting - Wohlt, private parties Phase 2 prairie planting - Abba donation, others? Four Seasons room furnishings - private party also included in Wohlt grant request Fall 2027 Wohlt Grant Submitted Numerous items included 2027 projects Bed planting around Community Center Finish prairie planting Potential Phase 2 Projects Funded by grants and donations More courts - pickleball?
