TOWN OF CALEDONIA PLANNING COMMISSIONM I N U T E SSeptember 14, 2026Town of Caledonia, Waupaca County, WisconsinCommissioners present: Bob Prahl, Mike Stoltz, Cary ZaugAbsent: Helen Adams, Shari Fudge, PC Alternate Corey BesawAlso present: Pete Bosquez, Supervisor 1 and town board representative to the Planning Commission; Curt Steinbach and Jake Hoewisch, local farmersChairperson Cary Zaug called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. The agenda was approved as published 3-0. The minutes of the August 12, 2026 regular monthly meeting were approved as presented 3-0.June 8, 2026 Residential Development Plan Discussion Focused on Agricultural PerspectiveThe commissioners along with Curt Steinbach and Jake Hoewisch discussed the Residential Development Plan with a focus on identifying areas that are excellent farm land that would be preferable to maintain and not develop. Also identified were areas that are not good (very sandy) farmland. New areas identified were east and west County Hwy W along Gruetzmacher Rd and Kanaman Rd. An area previously identified in the southeast corner of the township west of County Hwy W was reduced due to being prime farmland. Report from Town Board Liaison (Pete Bosquez) Pete reported on the following:The county ordinance revision meeting is this Thursday. Changes have been made to make sure the townships have input in the process as well as shoring up the language.FEMA funding is coming in to help with Keller Lake dam.Report from Park Committee representativeNo report.Old BusinessRailroad Quiet Zone: Additional investigation is being done to determine what process others have used to implement their quiet zones as there are some in neighboring counties.New BusinessJason Snyder will be invited to the October 12th meeting to review the draft Residential Plan map to determine if there are any zoning issues that we may not be aware of.WHEDA Opportunity for November 9th meeting to present what they have to offer.Public Comment: There was no public comment.The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm.
