Park Committee Meeting — Minutes

TOWN OF CALEDONIA – WAUPACA COUNTY Park Committee Meeting June 17, 2026, 4:30-6:30 pm Zoom Meeting Called to order 4:30. In attendance: Bill, Helen, Allen, Natalie, Brad. Alex excused. Old Business ● DNR hunting plan - still waiting on recommendation from DNR. ● Park entrance sign has been designed and ordered Action Items: ● Approved minutes of May 2026 meeting Reports: ● Pavilion update: Moving along quickly, on track to be completed on time. FCB needs black dirt for around the pavilion. ● Playground: Install starts second week of July. ● Courts: Coating will go on 6 weeks after asphalt. Fence in between. ● Site: Scott’s Tree is replacing 5 trees, 20 junipers for berm on w side of courts, and then 10 shade trees. ● Bush honeysuckle invasive species has been identified along with poison ivy and work will begin to remove them. ● County finishing sledding hill - slope needed to change. ● County is finishing trails to Meartz and around pond and sledding hill. ● Grass and no mow fescue will be planted soon. ● Signs: Main entry sign is ordered, signs around park are being installed, sign on building saying “Gruetzmacher Community Center”. Maybe sign out front? Where can this go? Match dark bronze in lettering. ● Garbage/recycling/dog station discussion - no new info ● Landscaping: likely to be 2027 project ● Grand opening: Officially 9/1 and Gruetzmacher Family event this fall with Charlie as lead. Do volunteers/contractors/groups next spring and Grand Opening/Ribbon cutting next May. ● Next meeting July 15 via Zoom, August Park Committee Meeting at Gruetzmacher Park. Adjourned
