March Park Committee — Minutes

TOWN OF CALEDONIA – WAUPACA COUNTY Minutes of the Park Committee meeting held on March 18, 2026 at 4:30 pm via Zoom Full Park Committee in attendance. Old Business ● DNR response on land sale: The grant was based on the full property, so if the Town chooses to sell any portion of the land it could impact the grant amount and would require two new appraisals costing approximately $2500 each. ● DNR responded to the hunting proposal and said we need to allow small game hunting. ● Ground breaking ceremony is being scheduled and invites will be sent out soon. Action Items: ● Approved minutes of February 2026 meeting ● Approved assigning trails colors to represent them on the map. ● Approved Gruetzmacher rental pricing and plans as presented. ● Approved naming the building Community Center instead of pavilion. Reports: ● Pavilion update: Construction is moving along, impacts from snow storm are unknown at this time ● Flatwork pricing is in the works. ● Playground install planned for July. ● Courts will be going out to bid. 4 or 8 courts depending on cost. Discussion of court specifications. They will meet official USA Pickleball regulations. ● Park sign wording and design is being finalized; order will be placed in April. ● Main sign will be developed by the Sign Committee next. ● Maintenance/Cleaning position interviews to start next week. ● Grant updates: ○ State of Wisconsin DOA $2million grant will be announced in Spring ○ Wohlt grant submission will open in the fall and we’ll re-apply at that time. ● Project budget and timeline are constantly reviewed.
