up.
Grand

on
scheduled
for
September.
● Broadband: Brightspeed & Bertram both received broadband grants for Caledonia in the BEAD grant
selection.
This
broadband
will
cover
the
entire
area
of
Caledonia
and
bring
competition
to
areas
of
Caledonia.
Brightspeed
will
have
1
Gbps
speeds
in
the
areas
not
covered
by
Spectrum.
Bertram
would
overlay
cable
to
provide
competition
in
the
areas
currently
covered
by
Spectrum.
Installation
timeline
is
unknown.
They
have
4
years
to
complete
the
grant.
They
are
planning
to
hit
all
addresses
in
the
Town
even
though
some
may
not
be
on
the
BEAD
grant
list.
● Rawhide has made very good progress on reducing police calls and kids off campus issues. Rawhide is
also
now
reimbursing
the
Sheriff’s
Department
for
calls
to
the
facility
to
reduce
the
impact
on
local
property
taxes.
● The 2026 budget will need to be revised as we’ve learned about the Kanaman bridge, Fire department
EMS
truck
purchase,
and
our
share
of
the
cost
of
outdoor
maintenance
equipment.
There
will
be
a
special
meeting
to
discuss
this.
● Country Visions property revaluation was missed after the construction of the new fertilizer plant. It is
now
corrected
and
Country
Visions
has
been
notified
that
they
will
be
billed
for
2025
and
2026.
We
don’t
know
the
impact
to
our
tax
revenue
yet,
but
it
should
be
significant.
● Kanaman Rd bridge update, explaining the barrels and long term plan to remain 1-lane until
construction
is
complete.
We
are
currently
preparing
to
apply
for
the
state
grant,
as
voted
on
earlier.
● New London asphalt plant. County zoning notified us that a quarry located a block from NL High School
requested
to
add
an
asphalt
plant
to
their
site.
After
investigating,
there
does
not
appear
to
be
an
impact
to
our
town.
● Caledonia is the fastest growing residential town in the county. New construction is a huge benefit for
increasing
revenues
for
the
town,
county,
and
school
district.
The
Town
Board
is
working
with
the
Planning Commission and Waupaca County Zoning to determine how and where to create new
subdivision/lots
for
future
development
that
keep
growth
focussed
and
limit
the
impact
on
the
rural
atmosphere.
● Dale Fire an Rescue is looking to add an EMS truck since 75% of their calls are EMS calls (not fire).
We
will
be
responsible
for
30%
of
the
cost
Clerk/Treasurer Report ● Clerk/Treasurer Snyder reported a cash balance of $1,233,173.82 at the end of January. The bulk of this
money
was
property
tax
collection
that
was
paid
out
to
NLSD,
Waupaca
County,
and
FVTC
in
February
settlements.

for
