January Park Committee Meeting — Minutes

TOWN OF CALEDONIA – WAUPACA COUNTY Park Committee Meeting Minutes January 21, 2026, 4:30pm, Zoom Meeting Action Items: ● Park Committee set the 2026 meeting plan. ● Motion to approve minutes of December 2025 meeting. Motion carried. ● Discuss 2026 Federal Recreation Trails Program application, requirements, and impact to park timeline. The Park Committee elected to wait until 2027 to apply. At that time, they will consider what to include in the project: perhaps pave a trail, repair trails from washout, add benches and signage, etc. ● Motion to approve Wohlt Grant submission. Motion carried. ● Motion to approve closing Gruetzmacher Park from February- August to visitors during the construction process in the construction zone. Motion carried. ● Motion to approve 2027 Readfield Park rental/pricing as recommended. Motion carried. Proposal will be forwarded to the Town Board for approval ● Discuss 2027 Gruetzmacher Park rental/pricing recommendation. No action taken. ● Discuss maintenance plans. No action taken. ● Motion to endorse the proposed hunting rules for Gruetzmacher Park. Motion carried. ● Motion to approve final park rules as proposed. Motion carried. ● Motion to approve geocache placement in Gruetzmacher Park. Motion carried. ● Motion to approve a GoFundMe page for Gruetzmacher Park sponsored by the Town to coincide with the groundbreaking ceremony. Motion carried.
