Park Committee Meeting — Minutes

TOWN OF CALEDONIA – WAUPACA COUNTY Park Committee Minutes December 10, 2025 4:30pm Action Items: Approve final playground design/price to forward to the Town Board for approval. The final design incorporates toddler equipment and additional pip that wasn’t in initial design, eliminating the need for toddler nature equipment adjacent to the playground. Playground equipment, installation, and pip is $240K and EWF through DTAK and installed by county is approximately $10K, bringing the total playground to $250K. Motion carried, contract forwarded to Town Board for approval at Town Board meeting. Reports: Gruetzmacher Park 1. Recap of meeting with Jessica Terrien of the DNR: discussion of hunting rules, availability of additional grant funds, timing of reimbursement (park must be officially open), input on rules. 2. Recap of insurance meeting 3. Playground: contract sent to Town Board, target June 1 install. Depends on flatwork around playground. 4. Pavilion: Feb 1 start date, completed no later than August 2026. 5. Maintenance plans: Will make full maintenance plans over winter 6. Updates: Meartz gate completed, will be installed. Pond site prep complete. Sledding hill soil in place, will be shaped next year. Trail completion spring. 7. Bill & Natalie will work together to wrap up 2025 spending and set 2026 spending plan 8. Loan status: Application approved, first draw submitted. Loan held by town, serviced by Gruetzmacher Family. 9. Grant updates: Amcor still pending, DOA pending, ANR waiting for check, Greenway Commission rcvd, Menasha Corp not awarded. 10. Timeline of future projects discussed. 11. Snyder proposed honoring Helen Adams by naming the prairie Adams Prairie and honoring Bill Abba by naming the pond Abba Pond.
