VILLAGE OF WYOCENA
SPECIAL VILLAGE BOARD MINUTES
TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2022
Call to order: Village President Kim Bauer called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll call: President Kim Bauer, Trustees: Paul Crary, Doug Rose, and Owen Landsverk. Also
present: Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer Lori Kratky and Mark Jankowski, Director of Inspections,
General Engineering Company.
Absent Village Board Trustee: Rusty Schiradelly, Kathy Morrison, and Rebecca Sersch.
Proof of Posting: Village Clerk posted the agenda for the August 30, 2022 Special Village Board
meeting on the bulletin board at the Wyocena Community Center, Wyocena Post Office, the United
Cooperative – Wyocena and the Village website on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
New Business:
Picnic License and Temporary Operator License For Ducks Unlimited: Motion by Crary, second
by Rose, to approve a picnic license for Duck Creek Ducks Unlimited and a temporary operator
license for Martin Griepentrog for the Ducks Unlimited Banquet on September 10, 2022. M.C.
Commercial Plan Review Delegation: Kratky explained that currently the village has General
Engineering (GEC) delegated to complete electrical inspections on commercially zoned properties in
the village as needed. However, unless GEC is delegated by the village to complete plan
review/approval and building permit inspections for commercially zoned properties in the village it
would be up to the property owner to apply for state approval of plans and inspections. Mark
Jankowski from GEC explained that due to the volume of requests the state receives each month for
plan review/approval it may take 4-6 weeks to receive state approval. Whereas, GEC receives fewer
plans to review than the state, therefore, could complete plan review typically in 2 weeks. Jankowski
stated another benefit to the property owner would be that GEC charges less than the state and
GEC would be able to provide all permitting with one contact person. Bauer stated the Wyocena
Church has a building permit application for covering the handicap entrance/exit and questioned how
much GEC would charge to issue the permit and how soon would it be completed. Jankowski stated
he could not quote a price without reviewing the application. Motion by Crary, second by Landsverk,
to delegate General Engineering for commercial plan review. M.C.
Board Comments: Crary would like the board to review ordinances regarding storage building(s)
and junk vehicles. Landsverk questioned the status of the public record request from July 11, 2022.
Kratky stated the request was responded to on July 12th; no public records exist per the request.
Bauer would like the board to review mowing of the right-of-way along Washington Street.
Adjournment: Motion by Rose, second by Landsverk, to adjourn at 2:30 p.m. M.C.
