Reports:
Library Director Report: A written report was provided. No questions were asked.
1) Discuss Possible Library Referendum: Knitt explained it is projected the library will be
out of money to operate by mid-2022 if nothing changes. Knitt stated the library would like a budget
increase of $50,000 per year but may be able to continue operation with slightly less. Knitt said
options the library board discussed were either the village acquire a loan each year to cover the
shortfall or place a referendum question on the April ballot requesting to exceed levy limitations for
$50,000 for library operations. Either option would need Village Board approval as it would be a
village expense. Walsh expressed concern over the village funding 100% of the increase. Other
options for funding were discussed. Motion by Walsh, second by Rose, to exhaust all possible
means of funding before deciding whether to go to referendum or not. M.C.
Police Chief Report: A written report was provided. No questions asked.
1) 2021 Seatbelt, OWI, and Speed Grant: Motion by Bauer, second by Schiradelly, to

Lake was briefly discussed.
