a. Update on Well #5
Cherek gave a budget status update showing $61,848.15 paid to date, of which $51,909 was in
engineering services. Cherek and Bloom have been in contact with local legislatures regarding the road
access to Well 1 issue. They are working to see if the 24/7 dry land access requirement is a state law or a
DNR Code. Conventional Rate Case has been submitted to the PSC.
b. Update on Cure-In-Place-Piping Project
Contingency for CIPP Project sits at $67,544 at time of meeting. Cherek and Vierbicher, the engineer on
the project, are working on determining the best sections to add to the project. Some sections will need to
be dug due to pipe collapse.
c. Update on 4th Street Lift Station
Bloom updated the Commission on next possible steps to remedy the cavitation issue. Smith and
Loveless suggest shutting the discharge valve on pump until check valve quits pumping and slowly open
the discharge valve until pumping resumes and check cavitation at that time. They also suggest checking
that the suction lines are at least 6” off the floor of the wet well inside the lift station. Darren Pope from
Vierbicher has offered to come on-site free of charge to assist with these suggestions. Bloom noted that
Cassie Lang
Village Clerk / Deputy Treasurer
the original impeller installed in 1974 was a 7 ¾” impeller that was since trimmed down however the utility
has no record of what size it was trimmed down to. Paul from William Reid suggests having a machine
shop trim down one of the impellers that are lying around for this project. Commission members
suggested possibly installing a variable frequency drive to see if that could help.
