b) Discussion on N. Business Parkway
Cherek stated he has been receiving calls about the posted speed limit of 25 mph being too low for that
stretch of road. He believed it was agreed to be 35 mph, however the Police Department had the Street
Department post the speed limit at 25 mph. Cherek, the Village Engineer – Vierbicher, and the Fire/EMS
Department all feel 35 would be an adequate posted speed. He brought the item to the Board to discuss
and to make an official decision on the posted speed limit.
MOTION – Approve N Business Parkway posted speed limit of 35 mph
Motion made by Sorenson second by Parlier. Motion passed by voice vote.
Cherek further gave an update on the storm water issue that has been occurring on N Business Pkwy.
Drain tile was installed on the north side of the ditch last month but the issue still occurred. On June 29
th a
portion of the road was dug to the east side of manhole for additional drain tile installation. Cherek feels this
will help the storm water issue; however, it comes at a price of about $15,000-20,000 to repair the dug-up
patch of blacktop and curb. The Board requested Cherek speak with the Engineer about covering costs of
the repair as they were aware of the potential issue and claimed it would be fine in the engineering process.
c) Discuss and Approve Replacement of Village At-Large Joint Review Board Member
Cherek informed that Board that at the 2025 Joint Review Board meeting, Village at-large member, Thomas
Vetter, voiced interest in leaving the Board after many years of service. Cherek informed the Village Board
that retired Village clerk, Luanne Wiesman, is willing to step in and fill that vacancy. Cherek recommends
