COMMON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS October 18th, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. Special Meeting Mayor Hauser, Presiding Present: House, Johnson, Juresh, Mathson, Morris, Sendelbach Luis Gonzalez, Trempealeau County Times; representatives of Rocket Construction, LLC and RJ Jurowski Construction, Inc.; and Karen Witte, Clerk-Treasurer A special meeting of the Whitehall City Council was held to review/approve bids for the construction of a new library building at the corner of Ellis and Hancock Streets. Bids for the new library were opened on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. After reviewing the bids for accuracy and completeness, SEH, Inc. has determined Wieser Brothers Construction, Inc. of La Crescent, MN to be the low bidder. The Whitehall Public Library Board met and is recommending the contract be awarded to Wieser Brothers Construction, Inc. Mayor Hauser allowed comments from the floor by representatives of both RJ Jurowski Construction, Inc. and Rocket Construction, LLC regarding their disagreement with the determination of SEH, Inc. that Wieser Brothers Construction, Inc. was the low bidder. Being that a representative of SEH, Inc. was not able to be present to explain the reasoning for their determination, the awarding of the contract was tabled until October 24th, 2023.
