Attendance a n d Pass Sale Update – June weather was not cooperative. It was very cool and the three to
four hot days had scattered showers in the afternoon. As such, attendance is down compared to last year, but
around the same as 2024. Pass sales are strong with higher sales this year compared to last year in Family,
Individual and Senior. Youth sales are down as likely more parents have opted for the Family pass. Pass revenue
is up, however, the Aquatic Fitness Supervisor reminded the C o mmission that an increase in passes was approved
for this year.

Parks Report – Rev iewed
Parks Tour – The Commission went on site to the following Parks :
Homestead Park – R eviewed the shade structure and the new asphalt slab fo r one basketbal l ho op as well as
having pickleball court lines. S ome pic nic tables will be brought in. The D irector is ordering more tables for our
park system and staff continue s to re-furbis hing tables as they can. This completes the plans for this park.
West Side Park - – Reviewed the Pickleball Courts and received updates on the fence, stairs, and the seating
area that is to be installed this summer. This shelter portion of the s eating area has been donated by Zuern
Building Pro duct s. One tree will need to be relocated to make room for the seating area.
Veterans Park –
SKATE PARK – R eviewed new equipment . This $1 30,000 project included $30,000 for concrete
and $100,000 for equipment. T h is addit ion was primarily paid for through donation s /fundraising as well as staff
doing some of the concrete base work. While the skate equ ipment company was here, staff asked them to
inspect the current equipment . Wh ile t he company was impressed with the condition of the equipment given it ’s
a ge, staff has put in $50,000 at the end of the current 5 year CIP to replace some of the older pieces.
Commissioner Carroll asked what the total value of the S k ate Park is. The Director e stimated just under $50 0 ,000 .
VETERANS MEMORIAL AQUATIC CENTER – Rev ie wed the sand play area and the complications it
causes with sand being dragged across the deck and into the pool which then causes iss ues with the vacuum as
well as concerns as it makes it s way in to the pip es. Staff is researching installing a splash pad instead. T h e
Director co mplimented maintenance st aff for the work they did on the grass areas to be sure it was well
maintained. As the facility continue s to have less chairs available due to replacement costs, having areas for
people to set down towel s is needed. The Commission rev iewed the break wall in the toddler area. W h en the
pool originally opened, the wall was considered too short by the State. Another inc h of concrete was added to
meet state requirements. This addition n ever cur ed we ll. St aff has repaired it multiple times as well as painted it .
T he current paint job has not adhered well. A n other issue maintenance is working on is the pad at the bottom of
the fish slide. T his needed replacement . H owever the pa d the company sent us does not have the fastener holes
in the same spot as the fasteners . Unfortunately, while staff wor ks on resolving this issue, the fish slide is not
us able . The new turbo chef oven is working great. T he new mats for the bath house are also great.
