Tourism Commission Meeting Minutes Tourism Reimbursement Grant Meeting Tuesday, May 12, 2026 – 4:30 PM Members in Attendance: • Tina Savage • Kate Carroll • Steve Volkert • Michelle Price – Did not vote due to submission received by her for the Chandelier Ballroom self guided tours. • Mayor Dennis Regan Grant Applications Reviewed: Friends of Pike Lake Request: $650 for the Discovery Day Event A motion was made by Kate Carroll to approve the request. The motion was seconded by Tina Savage. Motion carried with a 4-0 vote. Collaboration of Hartford Business and Organizations Request: $5,000 for the Hartford New Year’s Eve Getaway featuring the New Year’s Eve Gala A motion was made by Kate Carroll to approve funding in the amount of $4,675. The motion was seconded by Steve Volkert. Motion carried with a 3-0 vote. Tina Savage abstained from voting due to her business being involved with the event. Hartford Basketball Club Request: $4,000 for the Winter Boys/Girls Basketball Tournament A motion was made by Tina Savage to deny the request due to Tourism Grant funding having previously been awarded for this event last year. The motion was seconded by Kate Carroll. Motion carried with a 4-0 vote. Hartford Historic Preservation Foundation Request: $5,000 for the Chandelier Ballroom Self-Guided Tour A motion was made by Tina Savage to approve funding in the amount of $4,675. The motion was seconded by Kate Carroll. Motion carried with a 3-0 vote. Mayor Dennis Regan abstained from voting due to his involvement on the Hartford Historic Preservation Foundation Committee.
