Joe Reynoso reported that several informational reports had been distributed to committee

Joe Reynoso discussed challenges associated with obtaining permission from private property
owners to allow hunting access on their land.
Committee members also discussed hunting setback requirements and allowable hunting
distances near residential properties.
Gene Olson expressed concerns regarding bow hunting, noting instances where deer continue
to travel after being struck by arrows.
Mike Roy asked about the process for donating harvested meat. Joe Reynoso explained that
donated meat must undergo Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing prior to donation.
Joe Reynoso also reviewed the seven deer stands located throughout the city and discussed
associated permissions for their use. He stated he would seek additional clarification regarding
DNR testing requirements.
Motion made by Joe Reynoso, seconded by Mike Roy, to purchase replacement stand covers.
All in favor; motion carried.
B. Review Incentives and Promotions
Joe Reynoso discussed the use of trail cameras and distribution of images via email as a way to
encourage hunter participation and increase interest in hunting opportunities within the
community.
Jim Marsh noted that making trail camera images publicly accessible could create concerns but
stated that sharing images through email distribution may be a more appropriate approach.
Gene Olson suggested creating a photo album to organize and share images. Joe Reynoso
expressed support for that idea as an alternative to managing a Facebook page.
Joe Reynoso also reported contacting the Lake Country newspaper regarding publication space
for an informational article and discussed the possibility of being featured in the Communicator
newsletter.
Additionally, Joe Reynoso stated he met with Jori Hartwig regarding the creation of a page on
the City of Delafield Tourism Website and potential inclusion within tourism magazine materials.
Gene Olson requested clarification regarding the type of article being proposed. Joe Reynoso
provided examples from tourism magazine materials and also noted support from Mayor Tim
Aicher.
Joe Reynoso stated the primary goals of the outreach efforts are to encourage additional hunters
to participate and to identify more properties where hunting access may be permitted.
Jim Marsh noted that the Waukesha GIS Map could be utilized to identify properties with
significant deer traffic.
Discussion continued regarding challenges associated with obtaining permission from property
owners to allow hunting access on private property.
