A. Review of Bid results for the 2026 Street Improvement Program (including Genesee Street Crosswalk
Improvements) and possible recommendation to the Common Council
Malzahn presented the details of the three bids that were received for the 2026 Street Improvement
Program. The City of Delafield received bids from the Stark Pavement Corporation, Payne & Dolan, Inc,
and Wolf Paving Co., Inc. The City’s overall budget is $732,274.00. Stark Pavement Corporation
provided the lowest big total of $585,960.45 with total projected project costs being $707,737.47.
Malzahn recommended awarding the contract to Stark Pavement Corporation in the amount of
$585,960.45.
Jashinsky thought bid looked good.
Office: (262) 646-6220 - E-Mail: clerksoffice@cityofdelafieldwi.gov – www.cityofdelafieldwi.gov
Scherer asked if the crosswalks were included in the project. Malzahn stated the roadwork will be done
by Stark if approved. The crosswalks will be done by PPG as they have certified contractors for it.
Craven asked if there was language in the City contract or their proposal for rising fuel prices.
Malzahn stated not necessarily for rising fuel prices. There would be some kind of negotiation about any
rising costs in general. Hafner stated in the past, they don’t get a refund if fuel costs go down so it is
unlikely it would be an issue. Malzahn stated the company would have to honor their bids.
Motion by Baumann, seconded by Scherer, to recommend to the Common Council to award the
2026 Street Improvement Program construction contract, including the Genesee Street Crosswalk
Improvements, to Stark Pavement Corporation in the amount of $585,960.45.
All in favor. Motion carried.
