1 | Page DELAFIELD OUTDOOR ART MEETING Minutes Outdoor Art Committee Members: Mary Daniel, Teresa Spencer, Mark Schaefer, Megan Braatz, Nancy Clausen, Melanie Thorne, Ray Drea, Susie Austin Tuesday March 19, 2026, 9:30AM | Delafield Historical Society | 426 Wells St., Delafield, WI 53018 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 9:37AM. 2. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. Roll Call Present: Mary Daniel, Teresa Spencer, Mark Schaefer, Melanie Thorne, Ray Drea 4. Citizens Comments No citizens were present 5. Election of Officers A. Chair – Mary Daniel B. Vice Chair – Teresa Spenser C. Secretary – Melanie Thorne Motion made by Mark Schaefer, seconded by Teresa Spencer to approve the slate of officers. All in favor; Motion carried. 6. Review of draft organizing documents Discussion and possible action on draft organizing documents: A. Bylaws B. Guiding Principles Notes: Bylaws and guiding principles were combined into one document. C. Art Installation Plan D. Selection Criteria Motion made by Melanie Thorne, seconded by Mark Schaefer to approve organizing documents with minor revisions. All in favor; Motion carried. 7. Review of current outdoor art initiatives in Delafield Discussion and possible action to review all items noted below: A. List of existing outdoor art initiatives Notes: Mary Daniel provide a partial list of art installations currently in Dealfield. 8. New Business Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Mural on Milwaukee Street B. Discussion of potential new outdoor art installations Notes: • Group agreed that we will prioritize identification of major art installation and then determine if a mural wall should be a separate project of if it will support the initiative. • Mary Daniel agreed to explore ownership of wall property on Milwaukee Street (near Olive Garden). • Jori Hartwig agreed to develop the creative brief for the art installation. • Teresa Spenser and Ray Drea agreed to collaborate on developing a list of potential artists to respond to brief once it is approved. • Team agreed to begin development of a 3-year strategic plan to guide future efforts. 2 | Page DELAFIELD OUTDOOR ART MEETING Minutes Outdoor Art Committee Members: Mary Daniel, Teresa Spencer, Mark Schaefer, Megan Braatz, Nancy Clausen, Melanie Thorne, Ray Drea, Susie Austin 9. Next Delafield Outdoor Arts Meeting: April 23, 2026 11. Adjournment Time: 11:05 AM All meetings of the Delafield Promotion & Tourism Commission meeting are public meetings. The meeting of the Commission is a working session for the Commission itself, and, outside the Citizens Comments section, discussion by those in attendance is limited to Commission members, staff and others that may be a party to the matter being discussed.
