Committee will be contacting non -traditional concrete contractors. The Bil -Bar parking lot was reviewed and

Unfinished Business
Request for brainstorming on some fundraising to raise money for any potential future expenses the city
might have with the new lake pier, as requested by Alderperson Price.
Price explained there was no budget passed for repairs or maintenance or any way to check the usage. There
is also no way to stop overuse. He suggested parking meters on the slips similar to Lake Geneva. This might
be a useful tool for people to check on parking availability and may lessen traffic in the Bay.
Schaefer added that Park and Rec discussed hours and voted to put signage at the pier to specify open hours
at the Park. They would like to get some experience with the pier prior to implementing any additional items.
Aicher noted that the policy items should be discussed at Lake Welfare Committee and Park and Rec
Commission in detail. Aicher also added that some of the items that Price brought up were considered in the
budget item for the pier. The ongoing maintenance costs were expected to be minimal. Schaefer added that
the proposed pier should be extremely low maintenance. The park maintenance budget is an average of
$112,000, so any expected maintenance would be negligible in costs. Hafner added that the construction
permit and grant agreement will need to be reviewed to ensure that the City could charge for use.

Public Works Committee
Pavin was not at the meeting, but reviewed notes provided by Chair Dan Jashinsky. The Street Improvement
Plan and biddings are proceeding as scheduled. There were no bidders for the City Hall stairs project, so the
Committee will be contacting non -traditional concrete contractors. The Bil -Bar parking lot was reviewed and
approved. The Genesee St crosswalk was discussed in detail, one member would prefer to stick with the
traditional brick, but the test areas are meant to be a test run. Pavin added that the brick does look better
initially, but when it is damaged, it looks really bad. Hafner explained that there is also issue with the concrete
ribbons under the bricks. Hafner added that a design committee may be considered for this project. Valde
added that she has received many complaints with regard to the brick and difficulty walking.
Discussion and possible action regarding a resident request for the City to improve the east-west
segment of Woods Road as a paved public road with substandard width and the Public Works
Committee’s recommendation to approve the request with conditions and to include the project in
the capital budget for construction in 2027.
Hafner explained that Woods Rd. is unique in that it has been unimproved for 40 years. There has
been no interest in paving until recently. The residents would prefer a substandard road width wise,
the Public Works Committee approved paving about 15 ’-18’. The City will complete brush clearing,
Motion by Schaefer, seconded by Valde, to approve the request for the City to improve the
east-west segment of Woods Road as a paved public road with substandard width and the
