City of Delafield Citizen Comments
Jim Larsen, 1511 Second St – spoke regarding perceived parking restrictions on Milwaukee and Second st. There
had been a no parking sign that was posted and then removed by City DPW due to the fact that the sign had not
been approved previously and was thought to be a privately posted sign. This area is dangerous when cars are
parked in this area. He would ask that the parking issues in this area be reviewed and asked that the City consider
implementing no parking in that area officially.

Mayor's Report
New Business
Discussion and possible action regarding the renewal of the cityofdelafield.com domain for up to nine
years, which is not currently used for any email or website addresses, in order to reduce the possibility
of inappropriate use of the domain, due to the similarities with our current domain, as well as a general
assumption that it could easily be mistaken for our actual domain by persons unfamiliar with our
current .gov domain.
Schneider explained that the IT company had reached out regarding the fact that the domain name
“cityofdelafield.com ” would be expiring on April 1. Currently, it is not in use on any known accounts, but it is
worth renewing in order to ensure that another party does not take the domain and use it for scams. The price
for a 9-year renewal is $140.40, which is a very reasonable amount.
Schaefer added that this domain also does automatically redirect the correct City website.
Motion by Schaefer, seconded by Wilken, to renew the cityofdelafield.com domain for the 9 years.
Laughland noted that adding the .net domain would be worth looking into. This is a wise step to take to protect
the City from scams. Aicher added this is another level of protection against scams.
All in favor. Motion carried.
Approval of Vouchers Payable Report for the reporting dates of 02/18/2026-3/3/2026 & 1/1/2026-
2/28/2026 in the amount of $298,702.23 for accounts payable and $88,380.38 for payroll.

$88,380.38 for payroll.

He would ask that the parking issues in this area be reviewed and asked that the City consider
implementing no parking in that area officially.

water tender truck. This has been deemed a total loss. The appraisal value is the settlement amount. THe IMA
is clear on the process for replacement. Aicher asked about the plan for replacement. Fennig explained that
the Board will consider this at the next meeting. Typical replacement schedule is 20 years, Fennig had been
working towards 25 years for end of life. There are several that need to be replaced. Laughland asked about
lead time. Fennig explained they are looking at factory stock models for this type of situation. However, the
stock trucks will not meet the needs of the rural firefighting for LCFR, so a different one will need to be
