Discussion and possible action on the following items:
A. Fishing Clinic
The fishing clinic will be held on May 16th with one session at 9:00 a.m. and one session at
10:00 a.m. The registration will open at the end of April and will be listed in the summer
guide. The same size fish will be used this year as was used last year.
B. Recreation Agreement and Fees
There has been a challenge identifying the City versus the Town of Delafield residents for
the programs and they are working on a fix in getting the data. Sam Blonien said she will
send a report to Schaefer with the number of City of Delafield residents that sign up for the
programs versus Village of Hartland residents.
C. Opportunities for Intermunicipal Cooperation
Cory Bahr said they are doing some updates on their ball fields in Hartland which get used
quite a bit. Blonien said the T-Ball and summer camp numbers have been increasing and
she wants to expand their youth sports programs. The committee members said they would
not have an issue with Hartland utilizing the city’s ball fields so they can expand their youth
sports. Flemming said she would like to see games being played at Fireman’s Park and at
the Sports Complex so the fields get utilized instead of just being maintained. Flemming said
outside of the Park District, Kettle Moraine middle school just developed their sports area
and Kettle Moraine High School just redid their fields.
Cahalane suggested Hartland can do a mailing to the City of Delafield residents with their
list of programs.
7. Unfinished Business
Discussion and possible action on the following items:
A. Liberty Park – 2026 Stage and Music Series
No report
B. Signs for Riverwalk Boardwalk – Pedestrian Traffic
The city will use 12x18 signs at each end of the boardwalk and DPW can have the signs
made.
C. St. John’s Park Kayak Launch
No report
D. St. John’s Park Public Pier – Park Hours, Rules, Guidelines, Signage
Schaefer met with the Police Chief for feedback. The Police Chief said it will be an
enforcement challenge if Park & Rec puts up parking limitations. Schaefer said it would be
better if Park & Rec lists the hours the pier is closed and there was discussion about the
time limitations.
Motion by Andrew Hillmann, seconded by Dan Cahalane, to put signage for
10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. with a three-hour time limit.
All in favor. Motion carried.

Schaefer talked about possible locations for future memorial bench placement:
• Bostrom Park – Hillmann will look for potential spots in the park.
• St. John’s by the warming shelter or by the public pier.
• VMR – there are a couple of spots.
• Cushing Park – spots by the river entrance and the memorial on the hill.
The members suggested identifying future memorial bench locations when they do the next
Park Walk.
8. New Business
Discussion and possible action on the following items:
A. Park Wildlife
A citizen submitted a complaint form to the city saying they see lots of people feeding the
ducks along the river. Schaefer said they can put an educational piece in the Communicator
versus putting up another sign. Schaefer said he will share the correspondence with Lake
Welfare, Public Works, etc.
9. Review Monthly Financials
No report
10. Monthly Updates on Conditions of Parks and Trails
Turnock said the city logo at St. John’s Plaza needs to be repainted.
