Johnson Public Library Board of Directors Meeting, November 2025 Meeting held: November 24, 2025 1. Call to Order: By President Wiegel at 6:34PM. 2. Roll Call: Present: Janet Trout, Matt Walter, Sonja Wiegel, John Knellwolf, Cindy Corley, Carly Winslow, Alex Santacruz. Absent: Patty Taylor. 3. Motion that meeting and agenda were properly posted a. 1st Winslow, 2nd Corley. Motion Carried. 4. Approval of Minutes a. 1st Winslow, 2nd Walter. Motion Carried. 5. Reports, comments, suggestions a. None Present 6. Unfinished business a. Update on Children’s Council Books i. All Books have been received ii. Voting goes through February iii. 20% of the books are going to be donated to various organizations as agreed upon. b. Report on Past Library Events i. October 1. 2,504 pieces of material checked out 2. 13 New Patrons 3. Programs a. 405 total participants in tot time and story hour b. AARP Seed Saving c. Peggy Glendenning came for Author Talk d. Mean Girls at the Driver Opera House e. Mahjong Group f. Dementia Program by ADRC g. Bird Migration Week celebrated ii. November 29, 2025 1. 5 new patrons 2. Programs a. 288 total participants for Children’s Book week b. AARP Herb Gardens c. Wicked at the Driver Opera House d. Mahjong Group continues to be well attended e. Memory screening by ADRC f. Tot time and story hour continue to go well g. Program offered “Raising Kids in the Digital World” h. Andrea Nolen did an Author Talk i. John Armbruster did an Author Talk j. Tech help with Adam Wiegel k. Willy Wonka Sneak Peek l. Caregiver talk by ADRC iii. Totals as of 11/24/25: 1. New Patrons: 142 2. 18, 008 pieces of material checked out 7. New Business a. Discussion and Action on Social Media Policy i. 1st Winslow, 2nd Corley with edit. Motion Carried to approve with that edit in place. b. Discussion and action of Land acknowledgement i. 1st Knellwolf, 2nd Corley. Motion Carried to approve. c. Discussion and action on Board of Trustees Policy i. 1st Walter, 2nd Winslow. Motion Carried to approve. d. Discussion and action on closing Friday, Dec. 26th and Sat Dec. 27th i. 1st Winslow, 2nd Santacruz to remain closed December 26th, but open December 27th. Motion Carried. e. Report on Upcoming Events: i. December 4th 5:30PM Watercolor Art Wreath ii. December 9th 5:00PM Ornament and Book Bedazzling iii. December 13th 10:30AM-12:00PM Kindness for Carson coming for Christmas Shopping for children iv. December 30th 10:00AM: Starting the Year Right Storytime. f.
