Marquette County Health Department 428 Underwood Ave Montello, WI 53949 Telephone: (608) 297-3135 FAX: (608) 297-8923 CHIP UPDATES Jayme presented an overview of the health department’s strategic plan and how it is helping us meet the priorities of our Community Health Improvement Plan. Discussed the goals of our strategic plan then the priorities of the CHIP which are: Equity, Access to Health Care, and Affordable Housing, where the health department is with those efforts/strategies, and any anticipated results. The priorities we have had the least capacity for include access to childcare and affordable housing. Creating, leading and maintaining progress accountability for committees such as these is a huge undertaking. When the original plan was completed at the end of 2022, these efforts were to be completed by the Health Educator. We will continue to evaluate related funding and partnership opportunities as they arise. The Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) is state-mandated that we do every five years. PROGRAM UPDATES-SARAH JENSEN, PHN Sarah gave updates regarding the following, the harm reduction program which includes Narcan, LifePoint, fentanyl and xylazine test strips, The DOJ grant we were awarded, Amish home visiting, ask a nurse program at the middle and high schools, updating PHEP plans to a more useable format, website updating for CHIP, a ‘survival’ presentation for a high school class, Baby 101 and touch a truck events. With the prices of the vaccine and reimbursement rates increasing, we need to increase the standard dose flu vaccine to $52 and high dose to $112. The Health Department primarily bills Medicaid/Medicare for the high doses, and on occasion, some individuals pay out of pocket for Standard Dose.
