Minutes of the Marquette County Extension Education Committee Tuesday, June 10, 2025 – County Board Room, Montello Let the record show that Committee Members Present were: John Bennett, Dennis Fenner, and Ken Borzick. Also in attendance were Ron Barger, Administrator, and Jacob Hansen, IT Department. Staff Present: Laci Monroe, Pat Wagner. Call Meeting to Order- Meeting was called to order by Fenner at 10:00 a.m. Meeting is being recorded on WebEX. Approve Agenda- motion by Ken Borzick to approve the amended agenda, to reflect May Minutes review and their approval, with a second by Jon Bennett. Motion carried. Approve May Minutes- no discussion–motion to approve the minutes by Ken Borzick and second by John Bennett. Motion carried to approve May minutes as published. Citizens’ Input- none Educator Reports: Human Development and Relationships Educator–Hannah Zellmer and 4-H Youth Development Educator–Christa VanTreeck – each submitted a written report that was attached to the agenda. FoodWIse Nutrition Coordinator–Laci Monroe – presented on her educational programming efforts this year and also shared a written report with the agenda. Motion by Borzick to place educator written reports on file and he shared appreciation for the FoodWIse presentation. Motion seconded by Bennett. Motion carried. Area Extension Director Update - Pat Wagner a. Vacant Regional Crops Educator Position Description was shared with the committee along with a report detailing recent educational programming in the area of crops and soils. Committee will revisit this position vacancy at their August meeting following the July countywide listening session. The .25 FTE will be included in the budget worksheet until a final decision is moved by the committee. b. Wagner welcomed new summer 4-H Americorps Member, Olivia Zuehls, to the team and mentioned a positive experience with countywide strategic planning 2025 Extension Listening Session – July 9, 2025 is the date. Wagner reviewed the process and shared resources for what the listening session (community needs forum) will look like. Committee members added their suggestions of individuals to invite. Results of the process will inform regional crops educator vacancy, strategic planning for Extension; and future educational programming direction. Review vouchers completed. Report of Extension Education Committee Members a. Reports of official meetings held in the prior month i. Fair Committee - Per Bennett, the Fair Board is ready to go for the fair at the end of this month. A Fairest of the Fair, Olivia Zuehls, and Junior Fairest of the Fair, Molly Groskreutz, were selected. 2025 Fair Dates–June 24-29. ii.
