1 TOURISM COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS October 1 , 202 5 The Tourism Commission f or the City of Amery met October 1 , 202 5 at City Hall . Clerk-Treasurer, Taylor Larson called the meeting to order at 1 0 :00 a .m. Present: Paul Shafer , Tr oy Keller(Via Zoom) , and Sharon Marks Staff present: Clerk-Treasurer Taylor Larson and City Administrator Alex Mansfield Others present: Paul Isakson Motion by Marks ; seconded by Shafer to adopt the agenda as printed. Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion Carried. 1. Name Commission Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary - The commission unanimously agreed up on Sharon Marks serving as Chair, Paul Shafer serving as Vice -Chair , and Clerk -Treasurer Larson serving as Secretary . 2. Appointment of Tourism Entity-Amery Community Club - Larson explained to the committee that by law the City needs a tourism entity to forward 70% of the room tax dollars it collects to for use to promote the City. Motion by Marks ; seconded by Shafer to appoint the A mery C ommunity C lub as the tourism entity to receive room tax monies. Ayes- 3 Nays-0 Motion carried. 3. Designation of Quarterly Room Tax monies – Lar son explained that the City of Amery collected $24,142 in Ro om Tax monies in 2024. The 70 % that that needs to be forwarded on amounts to $16,899.40. Motion by Shafer ; seconded by Keller to designate 70% of City room tax collected in 202 4 to the Amery Community Club fo r a t otal contribution of $16,899.40 . Ayes- 3 Nays-0 Motion carried.
