ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS PROCEEDINGS The Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Amery met on July 9 , 202 5 at 5 :00 p .m. at the Amery City Center . T he meeting was called to order at 5:00 p .m. Present: Mike Klopotek, Fran Duncanson , and Jason Bottolfson. Staff present: City Clerk-Treasurer, Taylor Larson , Officer James Pressley, and Officer Sam Mahoney Others present: David Welu, Jody and S teve Roe, Vero na Burch and family. Motion by Duncanson ; seconded by Klopotek to adopt the agenda. Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion Carried. 1. Public Hearing: Variance Request for Steve and Jody Roe for 444 Keller Ave S Motion by Duncanson ; seconded by Bottolfson ; to open the public hearing . Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion Carried Steve Roe, Jody Roe, and David Welu (The Ro e ’s contractor) spoke on b eha lf of the Roe ’s receiv ing a Variance to allow them to b uild a deck up to their North property line. The Roe ’s a re not cert ain of their exact property line as a survey has n ot been completed for the property and no lot markers have been loca ted. The current GIS map image shows the property line running through the North side of the Roe ’s home. The R oe ’s do have e gress from their home without encroaching on lot l ine setbacks. Verona Burch was present to speak that the project should not be allowed at this t ime since the Roe ’s don ’t know where their lot line is and they could encroach on her property. Zoning Board of Appeals members asked clarifying questions about the project and confirmed that work on the project had beg un without a permit and without kno wing lot line s. There was discussion between the members of the public present a t the public hearing. Motion by Duncanson ; seconded by Klopotek to close the public hearing. Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion Carried 2. Decision on Variance request for Steve and Jody Roe for 444 Keller Ave S – The committee discussed what they had heard in the public hearing. The com mittee did not feel th ere was eno ugh information at this time since the actual location of the property line is un know. Motion by Klopotek ; seconded by Duncanson delay a decision on the application until the time that a CSM is provided showing where the property lines are located. Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion Carried Motion b y Klopotek a nd seconded by Duncanson to adjourn at 5: 35 p .m. Ayes- 3 Nays-0 Motion carried.
