MINUTES – PARKS, RECREATION & HISTORICAL LANDMARKS MEETING Government Unit Conducting Meeting: Parks, Recreation & Historical Landmarks Date: February 22, 2024 Time: 5:00 P.M. Place: 400 4th Ave S, Park Falls Members of the Parks, Recreation & Historical Landmarks Committee Present – Dennis Wartgow, Daniel Greenwood, Mike Mader, Benjamin Fox Staff: City of Park Falls- Brentt P. Michalek, Scott Schultz, William Hoffman, Shannon Greenwood Public: None There was a motion by Alderman Mader and seconded by Alderman Greenwood to appoint Alderman Wartgow as Committee Chairman. There was a motion by Alderman Mader and seconded by Alderman Greenwood to close the nominations and cast a unanimous ballot. Motion carried. Meeting was called to order by Chairman Wartgow at 5:02 pm. Public Comment – None. Approve Minutes of January 25, 2024 – There was a motion by Alderman Greenwood and seconded by Alderman Mader to approve the minutes for the Parks, Recreation, and Historical Landmarks meeting on January 25, 2024. Motion carried. Easter Eggstravaganza – Reviewed the flier for the event to be held on Saturday, March 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Hines Park and discussed having a rain date. Park Falls Mud Run – First annual event scheduled for June 22nd will take place at Chequamegon School District South campus for anyone over 5 years old. Youth Sports Sample Plans – There have been a few inquiries for the position that was posted but no applications yet. Spring Program Guide – Reviewed the sample plans. There was a motion by Alderman Greenwood and seconded by Alderman Mader to approve the Guides. Motion carried. Long Term Donation Approval - Administrator Michalek noted that the forms will need to be approved by the full Council. There was a motion by Alderman Greenwood and seconded by Alderman Mader to approve the forms pending approval by the Council. Motion carried.
