DRAFT TOWN OF STUBBS PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING December 23, 2024 • N3305 S Hutchinson Road, Bruce, WI 54819 Attendance: Bob Lorkowski, Dave Wierzba, Annie Huiras, Caroline VanDerLoop Others in attendance: Tom Cudo, Chris Michels – DOT rep, Janet Kochendorfer, David Kochendorfer, Bonnie Stefczak, Michael Stefczak, Joe Bill, Gail Lorenzen, Bruce Lorenzen, Craig Stevens, Tom Oleskow. Meeting called to order at 10:02am and Pledge of Allegiance. Chris Michels DOT gave a summary of the road inspection and what DOT requires for a municipal road. He feels that a 33’ right of way is possible provided the road can move around right-of-way. The utility pole can stay there as far as driving goes. It doesn’t pose a driving problem and GTA would be approved. Snow plowing by the town may require different specs. A variance would have to be requested from DOT if road is not 66’ A map is needed of properties and road showing right of way and exact locations of property and right of way to get the process going. Discussion of what the town would require to take on a road for GTA. Statute 82.1 & 82.5 lays out state rules for taking on a road Discussion on requirements for the actual road for maintenance. Discussion on how wide the road should be to satisfy the town. Next step in the process is to get the area surveyed. An engineer will be consulted. Once the survey is done there will be more information on what will be required to prep the road for the road to be taken over.
